Singapore: Phase 3 (28 December)

SINGAPORE: The country will enter Phase 3 of its COVID-19 reopening on Dec 28.

1) Social gatherings of up to 8 people will be allowed.

From 5 originally, the limit shall be raised to 8 for any Social Gatherings. Capacity limits in public places like malls and attractions, and at places of worship will also be increased. Capacity zones (50 in a group, up to 250 people for the whole event) will also be introduced for approved events and worship services.

2) Singapore has approved the Pfizer-BioNTech SE vaccine.

In the aim to provide vaccination for all Singaporeans, the country has already planned and proceed for the first shipment of vaccines to arrive (estimated) by the end of December, with other vaccines to arrive in the coming months.

3) COVID-19 vaccination will be voluntary and available free for all Singaporeans and long-term residents.

The vaccination is not a mandate but all adults in Singapore are encouraged to be vaccinated. Singapore expects to be able to attain sufficient quantity for the whole nation (estimated at Q3 2021). In an effort to ensure the vaccine is available for everyone, the government has announced that the Covid-19 vaccination will not be chargeable.

4) Priority for the COVID-19 vaccine

The top priority will be given to healthcare and frontline workers, the elderly and the vulnerable. The rest of the population is planned to be progressively vaccinated by the end of next year (2021).

5) Trace Together and Safe Entry

The TraceTogether only Safe Entry, or where the TraceTogether app/ token is required for SafeEntry check-ins, will only be implemented early 2021. Until announced, Safe Entry can still be used via the current check in methods.
